Kendal Fairtrade Town

How Can You be Involved?
There are a number of ways you can help support small producers from developing countries.

Businesses
How can Kendal businesses help?

  • Stock Fairtrade products
If you sell any products of which there are Fairtrade varieties, please stock them. We are not asking retailers to stock exclusively Fairtrade products, but to add them to their existing range to give consumers a choice. For a full list of Fairtrade products available please see the Fairtrade Foundation website at www.fairtrade.org.uk. For a full list of suppliers click here

If you do stock Fairtrade products please display a Fairtrade town sticker in your window (pictured on the right). We also have available ‘Fairtrade products available here’ stickers for shop / cafe windows. For copies simply call 01537 720255.
  • Use Fairtrade products in your work place
Whether you have a canteen, a vending machine or just a jar of coffee, start using Fairtrade products and encourage your colleagues to do the same.
  • Buy Fairtrade products
Every time you buy a Fairtrade product you make a difference, so whether it be your coffee, bananas or your daily fix of chocolate switch to a Fairtrade product and encourage friends, family and colleagues to do the same.
  • Sponsor the campaign
The ‘Kendal Fairtrade Town’ campaign is being run by the South Lakeland branch of the World Development Movement, we are a group of volunteers and have very little financial resources. We rely solely on donations and subscription fees. The backing of businesses is essential, so if you feel you could make a donation, sponsor an event or help towards publicity costs please contact us.
